Homeless in Ashfield

Are you

  • Struggling to pay your rent or mortgage?
  • Being asked to leave by your family or your landlord?
  • Experiencing domestic violence?
  • Sleeping on the streets?
  • Living in a home that is not suitable for your needs?

The Council is here to help, the sooner you contact us, the more we will be able to do to prevent you from becoming homeless or help you find somewhere else to live.

We can help by:

  • Negotiating with your family, landlord or mortgage provider on your behalf
  • Helping you to apply to be a council tenant
  • Explaining your legal housing rights
  • Helping you to look for a home in the private rented sector
  • Advising you on the financial support you may be entitled to
  • Helping you access support

In some cases, we will offer you emergency or temporary housing whilst we help you find somewhere long-term to live.
