Lettings Policy Consultation feedback

Thank you to those who commented on the recent Lettings Policy consultation. Details of resopnses and comments made can be viewed. 

Following consultation, the one proposed change is to increase the income levels for joining the Housing Register, to £43,000 for families and £28,000 for single and couples 

Both Council are now seeking approval of the draft Policy

James Murray Mews - Local Lettings Plan

Emh have launched a new local lettings plan for James Murray Mews in Mansfield, to tackle the ongoing issues there. 

In order to achieve a balanced community, and address current anti-social behaviour issues within James Murray Mews, the following conditions will be placed on all future advertisements for properties in this area:

  • No applicants with a criminal conviction.
  • No applicants with current drug and/or alcohol addiction.

HOMEFINDER POLICY CONSULTATION IS LIVE...

The Homefinder Lettings Policy is changing. 

A new draft Policy has been developed using feedback from applicants, residents and partner agencies. 

We are now seeking your views on the proposed new Policy. To help you understand the changes, there is a document summarising the changes and also a quick guide to what is being proposed. 

We will be contacting all applicants, to advise and encourage them to read the new draft Policy and to comment on it.

Adrian Sheldon View - Local Lettings Plan

The following LLP criteria will apply to the x8 two bedroom and x8 three bedroom homes on first let only.  

  • 50% of new homes will be let to applicants where at least one member of the household is in employment (min 16 hours and long-term contract).
  • Two-bedroom houses –a maximum of 50% of vacancies will be let to families with 2 children.
  • Three-bedroom houses –a maximum of 50% of vacancies will be let to families with 3 dependent children. Due to the size of the homes, families with more than 3 dependent children will not be considered as eligible.  
  • An applicant will not normally be considered if they or any other person included on their application
  • has relevant unspent criminal convictions or
  • has had enforcement action taken against them in respect of anti-social behaviour within the last 3 years or
  • is unable to provide satisfactory references for accommodation they have resided in during the last 5 years.
