Have your say on the Homefinder Lettings Policy.
Mansfield and Ashfield District Councils and the Homefinder parnter landlords are reviewing the Lettings Policy and we are keen to get your views.
The Policy sets out who is able to join the Housing Register (waiting list) and how empty council and housing association properties are let. It is important the Policy reflects local needs and that applicants and residents have input into it.
The survey will be open for 6 weeks, closing on 28th July 2025. To complete the survey click https://r1.dotdigital-pages.com/p/7Q6J-94S/homefinder

Ashfield District Council is considering making changes to how vacant flats at Chatsworth Drive, Hucknall are let.
An increase in anti-social behaviour in and around the flats means that action needs to be taken by agencies, including the Police and the Council's ASB Team. As part of this the proposal is to increase additional checks on prospective tenants.
Details of the proposal can be found in the Letter sent to tenants.
If you have any comments or concerns about the proposal, please email these to housingadmin@ashfield.gov.uk by 31st March 2025.
In Summer 2024, EMH Homes are bringing 56 new homes to the Mansfield area on Victoria Street in Mansfield. Mansfield’s housing allocation scheme will remain the overarching policy against which allocations are made but the local letting plan below outlines how nominations will be made outside of the principal policy for the initial lettings to this new development. This is to ensure that a settled community is encouraged. This applies to all rented properties on this development for re-letting. EMH homes and Mansfield District Council are proposing a local lettings policy which reflects key features in order to ensure a sustainable, mixed, and balanced community on this development. In order to develop a sustainable mix of occupants
All homes will be advertised through the Council’s CBL system with the additional eligibility criteria as set out in this LLP clearly stated in the advert. Any local connection criteria will be applied in accordance with the Council’s Allocation Policy. In the event of insufficient bids from applicants who meet the above criteria following two consecutive advertising rounds, then lettings will be made under the normal allocations procedures under Mansfield’s allocation Policy.
